Paul Boehm walked the group through a 20‑plus slide deck intended to brief the Select Board on the proposed bias and hate incident reporting system. The planned presentation will restate the group's charge, cite recent incidents and under‑reporting, and situate the proposed intake form and dashboard within a broader prevention–reporting–response lifecycle to explain how the system supports community trust and safety.
Group members stressed the importance of transparent limits in the presentation: the system is not an investigative or punitive body and is not meant to replace police or schools. The slides will also summarize the group's research methods (reviews of other towns, consultations with police and schools, Human Rights Council input, focus groups) so the Select Board understands the evidence behind the recommendations. Mr. Boehm will shorten and refine the deck and insert a new focus‑group findings slide prepared by Deborah Dorfman.
