Council told nonresident senior center fees would double; staff estimates 25% membership drop

During the budget presentation, Kim Quinn said the proposed budget would leave resident senior-center membership at $20 while increasing the nonresident fee from $60 to $120. "We will not be increasing the resident fee. It will remain at $20, but the non resident fees will increase from 60 to a 120," Quinn said.
Quinn told council staff reestimated revenues and projected about a 25% drop in membership because of that nonresident increase. Council members asked for additional data on current enrollment in Saginaw and whether staff can provide membership counts before finalizing the budget; staff agreed to return with those figures before adoption. The budget hearing schedule and the August adoption timeline remain unchanged.
