Pierre to advertise sealed bids for airport lot 23 at 1806 Piper St.

Casey Pamperien, Pierre Regional Airport manager, told the commission July 21 that Lot 23 at 1806 Piper Street has been vacated by its previous tenant under an expired agreement and is ready to be offered for lease.
Pamperien described the lot as including a concrete pad and a 400-square-foot building and asked the commission to authorize advertising for sealed bids. Commissioners Huizenga and Reitzel moved and seconded the request to advertise for bids; the motion passed unanimously. City staff set the bid opening for Aug. 13, 2026, at 4 p.m.
The authorization allows the airport to solicit competitive proposals for reuse of the industrial lease site; no proposals or bidders were discussed at the meeting.
