Megan Van Hook, executive director of Amador Wine Country, presented the group's first annual report and described its governance, assessments and marketing work. She said the district collects a 1% direct-to-consumer assessment that is distributed roughly as 66% marketing, 23% administration and operations, 6% for quality/education, and 5% to reserves; supplemental income comes from events. "So right now with our district, we are collecting, 6% for quality and education, 23% is admin and operations, 5% is our reserves, and 66% we're putting towards our marketing and brand awareness," Van Hook said.
Van Hook reviewed marketing metrics (social posts with tens of thousands of views, a reported 1.3 million impressions via CTV partners, and roughly 10% improvements in search outcomes) and described governance steps taken since formation in 2025, including Brown Act adherence, board elections and committee formation. Staff noted that state code requires the Board approve the report; following brief board discussion the board adopted the annual report and a resolution to accept it.
