A presenter said seriousness and the level of the offense determine the classification and that an "admin assigned only" flag ensures administrator involvement, counselors and other action steps aligned with consequences. The staff added that when an administrator’s investigation confirms bullying, consequences may be increased to reflect the severity.
Board members also pressed how and when the public will see the updated matrix. Staff said the revised matrix will be posted on the district website and distributed to administrators and parents via ParentSquare before school starts; "that will happen this week," staff said.
The presentation emphasized professional development, monitoring trends and an annual review process to keep the matrix relevant. No formal action was taken; the item was presented for board information and stakeholder transparency.
