Roy Livergood, chief of the long-range planning division with the York County Planning Commission, described proposed amendments to Growth Management Map 20, which depicts primary, secondary and future growth areas as well as established rural areas. Livergood said staff worked with approximately 26 municipalities and that "approximately 10 municipalities adopted changes to the road and or rural areas," with most changes being minor expansions to primary growth areas.
He noted one area around Lewisbury where a previously designated growth area was retracted after earlier development expectations did not materialize, and he explained that yellow "x" markings on the map identify places the county and local municipalities marked as inconsistent. Commissioners asked staff to provide backup materials explaining those x'd areas and to return with clarifications for future consideration.
