Glasgow City Council conducted a swearing-in ceremony for Rebecca Parsons, who took the oath to serve as a police officer for the City of Glasgow. Police Chief introduced Parsons and summarized her background, including an associate degree from South Central Technical College and prior service as a Kentucky State Police dispatcher.
The presiding officer led Parsons through the oath: "I, Rebecca Parsons, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States of America and the constitution of this commonwealth..." Parsons responded, "Yes, sir," and was congratulated as a member of the Glasgow Police Department. The chief noted she "recently graduated last Thursday from DOCJT," referring to the Department of Criminal Justice Training.
The chief also said Parsons is married to Spence, who serves as a deputy with the Warren County Sheriff's Office, and that the family is raising four children. Parsons’s mother, Elizabeth, came forward to pin her badge during the ceremony.
The swearing-in was presented as part of the regular meeting and closed with congratulations from council and the presiding officer.
