Walden road report: new hire, culvert work and Mack truck body delayed about a year

At the July 27 meeting the road report noted that a new hire, Nick Molleur, is "working out fine," and crews have been hauling winter sand and grading. The board was told the department is pursuing culvert replacements and addressing a runoff issue on Baylee Hazen Road.
A resident visited the garage to complain about a road issue; road reporter Bill Ducharme said he did not believe the road had come up and that he could not dig it down 12 inches. Selectboard member Jon Augeri agreed to inspect the spot and report back to the board.
The minutes also state a new Mack truck has arrived but the body will not be available for about 12 months, a timing detail the board noted without recorded motion or vote.
