The Madison Parish Police Jury on July 13, 2026, unanimously adopted Resolution No. 2026-9 to rename and dedicate the operational airfield at Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport as Dan Fordice Airfield. The resolution notes that Fordice was "a highly respected veteran, accomplished aviator with over 10,000 flight hours" and directs the Airport Manager and administrative staff to take "all necessary actions to implement this dedication, including the coordination and installation of appropriate physical commemorative signage at the facility."
The motion to accept the naming recommendation was offered by Mr. Stanley Ogden and seconded by Mr. Johnny Hughes; the jury recorded the motion as carried.
