Commissioner Wilson moved to defer a community project allocation until the next budget hearing to give commissioners additional time to review prior statements and documentation.
"I will make a substitute motion to defer the community project until the next budget hearing to allow all of the commissioners to review all of my previous statements and make a decision then," Commissioner Wilson said. Commissioner Miller seconded the substitute motion.
The board recorded the substitute motion as carried 4–3; Commissioners Cohen, Hagen and Myers voted no. The item was deferred to the first public hearing and will be revisited along with other budget adjustments at the September hearings.
Wilson explained the request as an attempt to ensure fairness and avoid ad hoc reallocations; she urged the board to review the history of the flagging process and pursue consistent treatment of allocations going forward.
