Clerk/Treasurer Caryn DePew reviewed the Application for Lodging Tax Funds and said there have been requests to better inform the community about the process and how lodging tax applications are evaluated. She asked Council for suggestions to make the process work better and to improve notice to applicants and residents.
DePew also flagged a potential funding option for pedestrian improvements: she said crosswalk signs might be eligible for lodging tax funds, subject to program rules and Council priorities. No final changes to the lodging tax process were adopted at the July 13 meeting; staff will bring suggested process changes back to Council for consideration.
