Forks Council adopts 2027–2032 Six-Year Street Plan; notes WSDOT controls Forks Avenue

On July 13 the Forks City Council approved Resolution No. 539 adopting the Six-Year Street Plan for 2027–2032. Public Works Director Hampton described planned pavement overlay projects including Russel Road and Trillium Avenue; the Council voted to adopt the plan on a motion by Soha, seconded by Patel.
Council discussion emphasized a jurisdictional limitation: Council Member Soha explained that the Street Plan “does not apply to Forks Ave/Hwy 101,” which is under Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) control, and recommended that concerned residents petition WSDOT for speed reductions and crosswalks on that state highway. The Council noted requests at the hearing for additional stop signs and lower speed limits at town entrances but recognized those measures require state coordination when they involve Hwy 101.
