River Ridge Board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman; begins recruitment for Seat 1

The Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expiring Nov. 2026) at the Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The Board discussed recruitment and outreach: because the vacancy is an appointment (not an election), staff will ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to send an e‑blast to residents describing the vacancy and candidate qualification requirements and requesting resumes or letters of interest prior to the next meeting. The Board will administer the required oath of office and provide ethics training information to any appointee as part of the onboarding packet.
On a motion by Supervisor Blumenthal, seconded by Supervisor Twombly, the Board unanimously accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation and directed staff to proceed with outreach regarding the appointment process.
