The River Ridge CDD on Oct. 22 authorized Bowman Consulting to retain RG Architects, P.A. as a subconsultant to redesign two gatehouses and related monument elements. Eric Long said the gatehouses will receive a "facelift" rather than demolition; the main gate requires replacement because low clearance has caused it to be struck 12 times this year.
Discussion during the meeting covered zoning and elevation considerations, the need for a new elevation certificate, and the anticipated 12–18 month timeline for design and permitting. Mr. Long and District Engineer Charlie Krebs discussed financing the initial design as an up-front deferred cost to be invoiced when district financing is issued; a $62,500 cost was cited as a possible booking for reimbursement. Mr. Blumenthal moved and Mr. Mountford seconded a motion authorizing Bowman to retain RG as a subconsultant and authorizing the Chair to execute related documents after review; the motion passed unanimously.
