Select Board amends parking ordinance to prohibit parking near Florence Avenue intersection
Summary

The board voted July 20 to amend the town’s no-parking ordinance to add a prohibition near the Florence Avenue intersection on the west side of Route 7, citing recent close calls and at least one accident related to poor sight lines.
A board member said they had measured 120 feet north from the centerline of Florence Avenue and recommended adding that segment to the list of no-parking zones in section 22.12 of the town ordinance. The motion to amend was seconded and passed (one member opposed). The chair read the notice that the amendment will be published and that citizens may petition to require a referendum under 24 V.S.A. §1973 within 44 days of adoption.
