Board adopts Criminal History Record Information policy with revised storage language

Human Resources consultant Jessica Bingham presented a CHRI policy for the Board’s review. Auditor Echo Steffensen noted the draft said CHRI records would be stored "in the personnel files in a locked cabinet in a vault" but that the county’s personnel files are in a locked cabinet (not the vault); Bingham revised the policy to specify storage in a locked file cabinet.
The Board adopted the amended CHRI Records Policy (motion by Commissioner Corey Lundquist, second by Commissioner Troy Nelson; all present voted aye). The adopted policy changes were procedural and concerned secure storage and handling of criminal history record information in personnel files.
