Kingsbury County commissioners voted Jan. 20 to approve the 2026 union contract and to make the agreed wage adjustments retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026.
Under the approved schedule, the record lists Highway Foreman at $26.16 per hour, Highway Shop Foreman Mechanic at $25.14, Highway Operator at $25.17, and Heavy Equipment Operators at $23.97. The motion to approve the contract was made by Commissioner Troy Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Corey Lundquist; all present voted aye.
The union contract approval also carries routine implementation tasks for payroll and budgeting to reflect retroactive pay; the Board did not discuss further financial details for other county departments during the Jan. 20 session.
