Chair Jeff reported several ODOD grant approvals that arrived that morning: a $25,000 award to the fairgrounds for ground preparation and approximately $754,000 for remediation work at Ohio Wesleyan’s front (Beagle) library. He called the Wesleyan award "huge, huge help" for that campus remediation effort.
Staff and the CEC consultant cautioned that some grant closeouts remain pending because ODOD requires a 'no further action' (NFA) letter for final reimbursement; the Wild Oak market/Dublin Road project is one such example where additional monitoring or consultant work is delaying closure. Brent Smith noted the state's FY27 Brownfield pot could be large but competitive and urged the county to be ready when new rounds are announced so applications can be filed quickly.
