Board authorizes Cellebrite MOU with neighboring police departments

The Village of Beecher Board authorized the chief of police to sign a memorandum of understanding with the police departments of Steger, Crete and Monee to coordinate Cellebrite equitable sharing. Trustee Tieri made the motion and Trustee Gardner seconded; the board recorded a unanimous vote in favor. Under the agreement each participating department will contribute $1,200 toward the annual subscription fee for the Cellebrite system.
Chief Terry Lemming was authorized to execute the MOU on behalf of the village. The authorization allows the village to participate in a shared digital-forensics subscription with neighboring departments and splits the subscription cost as recorded in the motion.
