Parade of Lights drew record entries; holiday contest winners named and Fourth of July planning under way

Trustee Diachenko said the Dec. 1 Parade of Lights and tree lighting were well attended with a record number of entries. Trustee Weissbohn announced ten winners of the Holiday Lights Decorating Contest and Administrator Mitchell read the winning addresses. Trustee Kraus said planning is underway for a four-day Fourth of July celebration in 2025.
Trustee Diachenko reported that the Dec. 1 Parade of Lights and tree lighting drew a large turnout despite cold weather and included a record number of entries. He thanked the volunteer groups and Public Works for event support, including installing tarps around the beer stand.
Trustee Weissbohn announced that ten winners were selected in the Holiday Lights Decorating Contest; winners will receive a yard sign and a $50 check and Administrator Charity Mitchell read the winning addresses during the meeting. Trustee Kraus also reported that the Fourth of July Commission is planning a four-day celebration for 2025 and that the commission is seeking volunteers for bingo, car and vendor committees; the next commission meeting is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2025.
