Resident urges inclusive equipment and larger court at Baum Park

A Manchester resident asked the council to consider upgrades to Baum Park that would better serve children and families, including a slightly larger basketball court, durable court lines and at least one piece of inclusive playground equipment.
"Everyone said a little bit bigger court and some actual lines," the resident said, adding that one child who uses a wheelchair would benefit from equipment designed for accessibility. The resident noted that at present the child sometimes plays in mulch and cannot access the standard play structures.
Council members thanked the resident for the input and noted the city has provided ADA equipment in other parks; staff said they could look into options and possible grant or budget paths to support upgrades.
