Committee seeks custom questions for 2026 resident survey, to align with Select Board priorities

Chair Matt told members the committee plans to dust off several proposals and consider adding explicit, departmental custom questions to the 2026 resident survey to capture priorities such as transfer-station changes or website features. He asked departments to propose any custom questions they want included.
Sam and others recommended keeping baseline questions for trend analysis while adding a few targeted items each year. Sam suggested presenting highlights and a short slide package to the Select Board to publicize the five‑year strategic plan; he said the September 2 Select Board meeting could be a useful venue. "If you put the plan draft in the packet for the September 2 meeting, that gets it publicized very widely," Sam said.
Members discussed sharing their survey data and working with a regional Metro West grant-funded engagement consultant to translate survey findings into actionable communications work. Matt said his son, a data consultant, will present analysis at the next MTC meeting in August. The committee agreed to request department input on custom questions and to prepare a concise Select Board presentation.
