Planning staff presented the application as a request to approve a dual‑fuel combined‑cycle power station on eight parcels in the county’s northwest. Miss Johnson told the commission the application packet met the county’s completeness requirements and asked the commission to set the matter for public hearing: “Staff respectfully request that the planning commission set this conditional use permit for public hearing.” She also said staff has posted application documents and related materials on the county project web page.
The motion to set the hearing and schedule the special session was moved and seconded and passed on the roll call. Commissioners did not take a final position on the permit during the meeting; the hearing will provide a formal forum for evidence and public testimony on the proposal.
