Committee lauds meeting-room AV upgrades as improved but still in progress
Summary
Town committee members said recent meeting-room audio and video upgrades have noticeably improved remote and in-person experience, but staff and members flagged remaining visibility and participant-view features to finish. The committee will collect more user feedback before broader rollout.

The Municipal Technology Committee met and reviewed early user feedback on the town's upgraded meeting‑room audio and video system. Chair Matt said the upgrades were a long time coming and that initial reactions have been generally positive. "It's a significant improvement," Sam said, adding that audio quality is better and several video-display issues have been addressed.
Sam told the committee the front-desk displays had previously been mounted too high for viewers; staff lowered those displays and added new microphones. He recommended checking with staff who have been following the rollout closely to gather more specific feedback. "I think it's a significant improvement and really a good thing to have," Sam said.
Committee members requested the ability for front-desk screens to show a participants list to help identify audience members who may wish to comment. Matt asked staff to continue collecting feedback from users and to report back; no formal action was taken. The committee noted the upgrades benefit both remote participants and local attendees but said several features remain a work in progress and warrant follow-up.
