The board considered a complaint filed by an individual identified as Reinhardt that alleged officers failed to address a medical condition during an encounter. Staff and board members said the complainant had twice indicated they would appear but did not join the Zoom call or attend in person, leaving the board unable to ask clarifying questions.
"When we have no contact, we'll go back for secondary contact," Chair Rick said, noting this case already had opportunities to appear. After discussion that the written complaint lacked the detail needed to evaluate whether department policy was violated, a board member moved for an unfounded disposition and the board voted in favor. Members said if the complainant files again and appears, the board will reconsider.
