Charter Communications highlights recent rural broadband buildout in Hardee County

Kate Wallace, director of state government affairs at Charter Communications (Spectrum), said the company recently entered parts of Hardee County and is serving customers primarily in the northwest corner of the county as construction proceeds.
Wallace emphasized broadband's role in telemedicine, education and workforce development, described partnerships with local emergency-response agencies and urged continued state support for rural broadband programs and streamlined permitting. She also noted Charter is a partner to disaster response and that, pending federal approval, the company may acquire Cox Communications, which would expand its Florida footprint if approved.
