Senate President Albritton, Representative Tuck open Hardee County delegation; Albritton signals this may be his last local meeting

The Hardee County Legislative Delegation met with Senate President Albritton and Representative Tuck presiding, opening with an invocation and pledge and short procedural announcements about speaking limits and public-participation cards.

Albritton, who said this was his 16th Hardee County delegation meeting and “likely my last,” thanked constituents and staff, reflected on differences between urban and rural Florida and urged continued support for local institutions such as community redevelopment areas and soil-and-water districts. He cautioned lawmakers to take a “measured approach” to property-tax relief so fiscally constrained counties are not harmed.

“It's good to be home,” Albritton said in his opening remarks, and later cautioned, “When it comes to property taxes, everybody breathe. Nobody's gonna do anything crazy. We're gonna take a measured approach.”

Albritton also highlighted a state program called Farmers Feeding Florida, which he said has already purchased multiple loads of milk for distribution to hungry children, and urged attendees to maintain personal relationships with Tallahassee leaders to ensure continuing support for rural communities. Representative Tuck thanked participants and adjourned the meeting.
