Emmanuel Israel presented on behalf of a youth-violence conflict-resolution organization, saying the group has run seminars across the U.S. and internationally and offers a free program for schools. "Our mission is dedicated to empowering and inspiring the day's youth to become catalysts for change in the community," Israel said, and he described a four-week curriculum covering peer pressure, gang affiliation, violent upbringing, and social-media influence.
Board members asked whether the program's explicitly religious wording would conflict with school requirements. Israel said presenters can "navigate around that" and offer values-based content during in-school sessions; he also said the program is currently free and usually delivered during school hours, and that sessions typically last about one to two hours per grade block.
