Tunbridge Selectboard moves to tighten transfer-station access and raise bag fees

At both the pre-town and Selectboard portions of the meeting, town leaders discussed changes to the transfer station meant to protect revenue and ensure resident-only access. Gary Mullen said the town will issue stickers so only residents use the facility and proposed increasing bag prices by $1. "We are going to give out stickers to make sure that only residents are using the transfer station," Mullen said.
Becky Hoyt reported she has drafted transfer-station policies and presented them for the board to review; the Selectboard plans to place the policies on the agenda for adoption at the following meeting. The board discussed increasing bag prices and tire fees after noting that tractor and regular tires are currently underpriced; John O'Brien proposed raising large-bag fees to $5, medium to $3, and small to $2. Bonnie McCrillis requested a bulletin board at the transfer station to centralize notices for users.
