Tunbridge Conservation Commission adopts mission statement unanimously

The Tunbridge Conservation Commission unanimously adopted a formal mission statement at its March 5, 2026 meeting at the Tunbridge Public Library. Peter Hayden, a commission member, moved to accept the mission and Evan Reiss seconded; the minutes record approval "by the Commission, in full attendance."

The adopted mission reads in part: "The Tunbridge Conservation Commission works to celebrate, preserve, and protect the Tunbridge community's natural resources for current and future generations." Commissioners also recorded a proposed vision statement and agreed to review alternate vision versions at their April meeting. The motion to adopt the mission was recorded as approved with full attendance; no dissenting votes were noted in the minutes.

Members said the mission will guide the Commission's education, partnership, and hands-on conservation projects and will be used to frame outreach and program priorities in 2026. The next procedural step is a fuller review of vision-statement drafts at the April meeting.
