Board notes enforcement actions and staff updates; Health Department secures $5,000 NEHA grant

During routine business on June 1, the Milton Board of Health reviewed enforcement and Health Department operations. Staff reported that cease-and-desist letters had been issued to Lulu’s Safe Crumb (no response) and Maija’s Home Baked Bread (operation will cease). Health staff also reported inspections: Julianne’s new food establishment received a walk-through on May 27 with a follow-up refrigeration check planned; Burr Estates and Wollaston pools had been inspected and opened for the season; the Farmer’s Market season was starting and vendor applications were being accepted.
The Board also recorded staffing and grant updates. Interviews for Health Agent were completed; Jenna Conroy was offered and accepted the Health Agent position. Assistant Town Manager Cody Clark will secure a Curry College intern to assist the Health Department in the fall for approximately five hours per week. Health Agent Karolyn Ho secured a NEHA grant award of $5,000 to support food training and education.
The Board adjourned at 9:03 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for July 20, 2026.
