The Board of Supervisors approved an employment contract to hire Summer Medina as Cumberland County administrator. Staff reported the position was advertised in December 2025 and, after interviews, the board offered the job to Medina who accepted the contract terms.
The staff report referenced applicable Virginia code sections outlining the authority of a county administrator, and the resolution recommended granting Medina the powers and authority in Code of Virginia sections 15.2-1540 and 15.2-1541 and local ordinances. The board moved and approved the contract by roll call.
Board members welcomed Medina and noted her start date will be August 3. The board also thanked the interim county administrator and said staff will assist with the transition.
