Supervisors approved a conditional-use permit for Mega Mini Golf, a proposed family-oriented mini-golf business at 3945 Cumberland Road in the Courthouse Village. Planning staff said the project occupies roughly 1.4 acres of a 3.42-acre parcel and was designed by high-school students as a senior project.
Stephanie Johnson explained planning’s recommendation and conditions, including keeping natural buffers on property lines, compliance with septic/well/electrical rules, providing refuse screening and limiting hours of operation to 8 a.m.–10 p.m. She said planning staff had not received formal opposition and that the planning commission forwarded a unanimous recommendation of approval. "Jeffrey, then senior at the high school, chose to open a mini golf business for his senior project," Johnson noted in her presentation. Public commenters including the school official praised the students’ effort and the board approved the CUP.
Conditions require compliance with VDOT access standards and staff will monitor safety measures (signage and potential right-turn-only exit) to address visibility concerns at the driveway.
