Milton Board of Health suspends two tobacco licenses after compliance-check failures

The Town of Milton Board of Health voted to suspend the tobacco licenses of Milton Shell (11 Bryant Ave., HADI SON LLC) and Milton Fuel (352 Granite Ave., GAF LLC) for 14 days and assessed fines of $1,000 for each store after compliance checks showed employees failed to check customer identification.
Manager Jason Audi, who represented both stores, acknowledged the violations and assured the Board corrective steps would be taken. The Board discussed employee training and documentation; Member Mary Stenson asked whether there were training records and Mr. Audi said he could create a checklist for employees. The Board approved a 14-day suspension and the fines by roll call: Roxanne Musto, Aye; Laura Richards, Aye; Mary Stenson, Aye. Mr. Audi requested the suspension begin April 15 to allow time to remove tobacco products from shelves; the Board agreed to the procedure and set compliance expectations.
