EcoStairis purchase of Commerce Park lots proceeds after extension approvals

Staff told the board that EcoStairis, a South Carolina company, is under contract to purchase two Commerce Park lots and had requested an extension to its due diligence period after encountering permitting reviewer reassignments at the Florida Department of Health. The board ratified an immediate short-term extension signed by staff and subsequently approved a formal 90-day extension to extend the due diligence period through Nov. 14, 2025.
Sarah Evers described EcoStairis as an inbound company that "sought us out," found the Commerce Park suitable for its operations, and is planning to provide medical and surgical instrument sterilization and biohazardous waste removal services with a target to assume contracts in January 2026. The purchase price for the two lots was presented at roughly $482,000 at $50,000 per acre, with a right of first refusal on an additional lot exercisable for five years.
The board approved both the short-term ratification and the 90-day extension by motion. Staff said EcoStairis plans to self-fund construction and is not requesting additional incentives.
