The trustees discussed an example to illustrate the rule: with seven trustees, four affirmative votes are required for passage even if a member abstains. The board directed that the clarified abstention language be inserted under Article 4 (voting) of the draft bylaws and noted they would add a footnote citing Robert's Rules or another printed source to support the wording.
