Conservation Commission outlines appointment process for seats expiring June 30

Chair Margaret Wheeler opened the meeting and explained that three Conservation Commission seats expire June 30, 2026, and that the Select Board implemented a formal appointment process last September.
Wheeler said the process requires the Commission to consider any applicant who submitted a Volunteer Activity Form (VAF) in the past two years as well as any current member seeking reappointment. The Commission will contact residents who filed VAFs since March 2024 beginning in April, interview applicants at public meetings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays in May, and intends to send requests for consideration to the Select Board in the first week in June. Members present included Margaret Wheeler, Marilyn Frank, Eric Fahle, Jim Gozzo, Ann Jefferies, Noel Almeida, and Lauren Harnett.
