Conservation & Recreation Visioning forum draws small but engaged turnout; wildlife corridor work proposed

Brian Litmans summarized a recent Conservation and Recreation Visioning community forum, saying attendance was low but attendees were engaged in multi-table discussions about desired valley conditions, mapping and a possible code of conduct. "Attendance was low but those that came out were engaged," Brian told the commission.
The CRV plans a final community forum on Nov. 20 at the Valley Players and indicated it needs someone to serve as the hub (coordinator) for ongoing work. Stakeholders expressed interest in advancing wildlife corridor work; Brian and Andrea noted there is interest among CRV stakeholders and that Laura A indicated willingness to work with all conservation commissions. The commission also noted Vermont Outdoor Recreation Community Grant (VOREC) funds are available for wildlife corridor work but must be expended by the end of the year.
