Eden Selectboard approves $100 seasonal camping rate increase, discusses beach upgrades

The Eden Selectboard voted on Sept. 24 to raise seasonal camping rates by $100. Selectboard member Ricky Morin moved the increase, Tim Bullard seconded, and the board agreed; the minutes record the new seasonal rate at $2,600 with a fall deposit and $2,700 if paid in spring 2025.
Board members also received a beach update from the Lake Eden Recreation Area manager. The manager reported a new rope has been purchased and that new flotation devices will be ordered and installed for the next season. Staff noted additional leaks and slow drains to be addressed when the plumber returns to close out the season. Two charcoal-grill grates need replacement and the Road Commissioner will bring fill to finish recent landscaping.
The manager requested campers use the provided facilities while camping. The board discussed that camping rates have not risen in more than five years and considered fee changes for seasonal camping, tent camping and shelters; the minutes note the possibility of charging children ages 3–12 a $1 fee (children under 3 remain free). The minutes do not record a final decision on tent or shelter rates or any formal change to the beach rules; they say rules and regulations are being reviewed.
