Director Ray updated the commission on next steps for the general plan and meeting logistics. He said staff has three elements remaining—water, a proposed open-space chapter and public facilities—and plans to streamline the water element by moving background material to an appendix and to prepare a future land-use map for commission review. Ray offered to draft an open-space chapter for the commission to consider.
On logistics, Ray confirmed the May 6 joint council-planning commission meeting will be held locally and that the commission’s regular meeting on May 7 remains on the calendar unless commissioners choose to cancel. Ray also said interviews for a new commission member had been postponed and two applicants were in the pipeline; staff expected to fill the vacancy soon.
The commission accepted the updates and asked staff to return compiled comments on the remaining elements and to circulate the future land-use map when ready.
