Selectboard hears updates on wastewater, roads and stormwater projects

Staff member (S7) gave a multi-department report to the Selectboard covering wastewater, water supply and public works projects. S7 said an engineer will inspect forced-main work on Adams Street and a key manhole near West and North Park Place; the wastewater plant recently received an excellent score in a state inspection.
S7 described roadwork updates: Scottsdale repaving wrapped up with roughly 1.5 miles completed and “That did cost about 380,000 to get that road done.” The board heard that crews will smooth transitions at driveways, start paving on South Main, and patch recurring potholes. S7 also reported stormwater work near the park is expected to be finished before the weekend and that a collapsed culvert on Bulger Road has been repaired.
The water report noted the inland pond is down about a foot but remains adequate as a town water source; staff said they are monitoring wildlife impacts such as beaver activity and fish. The police update noted one arrest, 67 traffic/municipal violations and 38 written warnings in the previous two weeks.
