Town staff told the board a recent electrical phase event at the wastewater treatment facility damaged expensive equipment and that insurance will cover most costs but the town needs to prevent recurrence. Staff reported two bids: Slate Valley at $25,750 and Alliance Group at $29,600; "the slate value was the low bid," the clerk (Jeff) said.
Board members discussed vendor locality and asked whether bids included contingencies; staff said the bids were not itemized and did not include contingency line items. A motion was made to award the contract to Slate Valley and the board approved it by voice vote. Funding will come from the sewer capital improvement fund, which staff said holds $384,666.
