Planning commission forwards positive recommendation for Silver Creek Estates plat amendment

At the April 14 regular session the commission considered a plat amendment for Silver Creek Estates Unit I, Block 9, Lot A. Planner Robinson presented the application as a cleanup plat: multiple small parcels acquired by Summit County and one owned by CPD Silver Creek LLC will be consolidated or dedicated to formalize the newly constructed right-of-way for Earl Street and the Lower Silver Creek Road roundabout. Planner Robinson said most technical comments from service providers were minor and can be addressed as conditions of recordation.
The commission opened the public hearing (no in-room commenters) and asked clarifying questions about parcel ownership and which parcels would remain county-owned. After deliberation Commissioner Peter Wright moved to forward a positive recommendation to County Council, the motion was seconded and the commission approved the recommendation by voice vote.
Planner Robinson said the county council (the final land-use authority for vacating a portion of dedicated right-of-way) will hold its own public hearing next week. Staff recommended addressing the technical conditions prior to final recordation.
