Selectboard approves proposed budget and warning numbers after revenue review

The Middletown Springs Selectboard reviewed revenue projections and line-item changes — including highway payroll, delinquent-tax estimates and reserve-fund offsets — and moved to adopt the proposed budget for warning.
Staff walked the board through revenue calculations and highlighted where numbers changed since the prior draft; members questioned delinquent-tax assumptions and whether a larger delinquent estimate would materially affect the tax rate. After the conversation a board member moved to adopt the proposed budget and include the amounts to be raised by taxes on the warning. The motion was seconded and the Chair announced the budget section was closed and the budget approved.
Selectboard members emphasized they would continue to refine clarifications in the warning and that staff would circulate final figures for confirmation before the warning is published.
