Ferrisburgh developers add fire pond and hydrants after Fire Department review

Project consultants told the ZBA that following Fire Department feedback they revised the site plan to include a centrally sited fire pond and additional hydrants and access lanes. Applicant Johnathan Couture said the pond would provide approximately 600,000 gallons for fighting fires in the local area, and that the courtyard-style layout uses the buildings to screen the operations.
Board members noted the revisions were made specifically to address fire-safety needs and that the Ferrisburgh Fire Chief participated in a site visit along with Board members and the applicants. The board indicated those fire-safety features would be among items the Zoning Administrator would verify and could become permit conditions.
