Conservation chair supports wetland demarcation but asks for maintenance language

Craig Heindel, chair of the Ferrisburgh Conservation Commission, told the Zoning Board that the applicants’ plan to demarcate wetlands with woven-wire fencing and signage limited his wildlife-corridor concerns and was "well designed." He asked whether the wetland permit would include regular maintenance of fencing and signs, and urged the board to include that requirement if it was not already in the wetland permit.

Applicants responded that an association document would be generated to ensure consistent ownership and maintenance. ZA Katie Hill told the board it would be important to include enforceable maintenance responsibility in permit conditions so the town could rely on the ZA for compliance action. The board indicated it could add such conditions as part of its subsequent deliberation and conditional-use approvals.
