The Chase Brook Management Plan subcommittee reported on Jan. 22 that Birdseye Consulting has submitted the only bid to update the Chase Brook Forest management plan; the firm recently completed a plan for Moretown and the FCC expressed confidence in their work.
Amy will reach out to Michael Brown to establish a timeline for spring work. Pete Colgan and Amy will develop a public survey to solicit feedback and will follow up with stakeholder groups including Mad River Riders, the Catamount Trail Association, and Fayston Elementary School to gather local input. The commission also noted ongoing maintenance at Chase Brook, with former member Patty Pasley continuing site maintenance as a volunteer; a picnic table has been ordered for the site using ARPA funds.
