ZBA hears update on proposed dwelling and ADU definition changes ahead of town reappraisal

Town staff told the ZBA that new dwelling and accessory-dwelling-unit definitions approved by the Select Board will go through the Planning Commission public hearings; feedback is due Sept. 19 and a draft town plan hearing is set for Sept. 17.
Town staff provided an update on proposed revisions to dwelling and accessory-dwelling-unit (ADU) definitions being considered for the Land Use Regulations.
Katie Hill told the board the listers requested clarification of definitions because of the upcoming town-wide reappraisal and that the Select Board had approved draft definitions. She said the changes will still follow the normal public hearing process, with the Planning Commission seeking feedback by Sept. 19 and the first public hearing on the draft town plan scheduled for Sept. 17. Board members asked to receive Hill's recommendations when she forwards them to the Planning Commission.
No regulatory changes were adopted at the ZBA meeting; Hill advised the board on the schedule for the Planning Commission and Select Board steps.
