Mad River Path engineering questions, parking alternatives and March public meeting announced

Michael Duell told the commission that the Mad River Path project is progressing but that engineers had returned with questions; staff (Misha and Sam) are working to address them. Duell said the project team is evaluating alternative parking areas for the proposed southern access point and noted the wastewater pipeline will be laid at the same time as trail construction.
Duell said his office is working with farmers and other landowners to secure easements and that stakeholders had raised concerns about dogs, wildlife, and multiuse access. He said the planning team is considering allowing leashed dogs and horses, and opening sections on VAST trails to snowmobiles during the VAST season. A second public meeting is being planned for sometime in March to update the community and gather input.
