Zoning board approves mudroom addition at Summer Point Lane

The Town of Ferrisburgh Zoning Board of Adjustment voted to approve Application #25-069, a one-story mudroom addition at 330 Summer Point Lane, on Aug. 6, 2025. The motion, made by Dave Mentzer and seconded by Bob Beach, passed unanimously with the condition that the project be built in accordance with the plans submitted with the application.
Applicant and property owner Karin Schmidl described the project as "bumping out" the entrance by 5 feet toward the driveway and by 10 feet in the other direction and said finishes would match the existing house except for a metal roof on the addition. Board members asked about foundation work and exterior lighting; Schmidl said the addition will have new foundations and new ground-level downlights, and that the two neighbors are located on the opposite side of the house and "won't see the new addition." No members of the public spoke during the hearing. The hearing was closed by motion of Bob Beach and seconded by Diane Nadon.
